Job description :

This candidate will be part of the Junior developer group in a team of approx. 7 developers ranging from Junior to Senior/Lead developers, to develop a custom ETL product set that targets extremely large volume Tier 1 level data warehousing using a highly scalable clustered solution. The product set is to be developed against an initial tier 1 data warehouse and then expanded to a global product set with long term support and evolution adapting to changing product requirements.

Responsibilities include :

Responsibilities will include

·         Junior developer in one or two of 4 distinct development streams

·         Align to overall development and integration strategy for the product set

·         Work within a structured and source controlled IDE environment (.Net  in MS Visual Studio)

·         Unified GUI based Configuration component (Administration UI) for developed ETL mechanisms

·         QA and implementation/deployment testing of ETL components as allocated by senior developments using developed UI

·         Consumption of the targeted metadata model (MDM, the configuration model) for the overall solution and the consistent use of the MDM to integrate with all development streams

Experience required :

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Development requirements

·         ODBC data connectors

o   Configuration of MDM

o   Version control within MDM

·         Working knowledge of physical and logical data modelling concepts in large data warehousing

·         Experienced in SQL (ANSI)

·         Unix shell scripting experience would be beneficial

·         Advantage to candidates with Java and C++ based ETL development experience

·         Advantage to candidates HTML/web application development experience

 

Software/Technologies

·         Visual studio on Windows

·         Optional advantage to developers with experience in Java, Job spec set 1: C++ OR Job spec set 2: Erlang using Eclipse IDE

Optional advantage to candidates with experience in Unix/Solaris administration & scripting
