Enterprise Applications Administrator

1 Qualcomm IT seeks an application administrator to implement, manage, and support its enterprise J2EE and .Net based packaged applications infrastructure.

This is a systems position, not a developer position.. The application administrator will be responsible for interfacing with customers and other IT teams, requirements management, as well as designing, integrating, documenting, and implementing solutions. Responsibilities will also include participation in user group meetings and the implementation of industry and corporate best practices. The administrator will be involved in 24x7 service monitoring; application installation; identifying and resolving technical risks and complex application issues; and collaborating with project managers, vendors, and other IT teams on the planning and delivery of projects. The administrator must possess a customer service attitude, experience working in a frequently changing team environment, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Functional

Ability to drive meetings while representing and collaborating with business and IT organizations. This includes SMEs, architects, and management

Technical
5+ years of hands-on experience with architecture and solution design for multi-tier enterprise packaged applications
5+ years of strong experience in administering and managing multi-tier COTS applications such as Pattern Insight, Optimal Test, Yield Explorer, AtTask, Doors, Focal Point and Certicom. Huge Plus..
Strong experience with enterprise collaboration solutions as well as finance and business process management applications
Strong and current experience in administering and using application point monitoring tools such as Sitescope, eHealth, and SCOM
Experience in administering and using application performance management tools
5+ years of experience in administering and maintaining LINUX and some Solaris operating systems. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server is a plus.
Strong experience with web servers and infrastructure such as WebLogic Server, Apache, IIS, and Tomcat.
Working knowledge and experience with the following database products: Oracle, MySQL and some MS SQL Server
Experience in shell scripting with PERL, PowerShell, and UNIX shells
Good understanding and background in TCP/IP, IT security, and single sign-on technologies
