MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Objective: To provide administration and support of UNIX servers in medium to large environments.

· Providing support to the Unix infrastructure for hardware and software

· Designing, installing, configuring and commissioning a new Unix infrastructure

· Extensive use and Knowledge of Sun EIS Methodology

· Extensive Design, Installation, configuration experience of Data Backup Policies using Veritas Netbackup in environments of > 1TB Storage and multiplatform environments.

· Excellent troubleshooting skills in Veritas Netbackup 5.0/6.0

· SAN Configuration Experience using – using McData Switches

· Hitachi Hicommand Device Manager Knowledge

· Hitachi HSSM configuration Knowledge

· ADIC SAN Fundamentals

· ADIC Library configuration in SAN Environments

· Strong appreciation for Incident Management , Problem Management and Change Management

· Excellent Documentation skills

· Suggesting improvements to systems and processes

· Identifying user requirements and developing solutions

· At least 5 years Telecommunications Industry experience

§ Solaris 8,9,10 systems Administration Certification

§ Hitachi Data Systems Certified Implementation Specialist – Storage Management

§ Hitachi Data Systems Certified Storage Manager

§ Veritas Storage Foundation 4.0 Specialist

§ Certified McDATA SAN Professional

§ Certified McData SAN Expert

§ ITIL Foundation Certification

§ NetAps Administration

SKILLS:

§ Excellent oral and written communications skills Solaris 8, Solaris 9 and 10, solid shell and perl scripting experience.

§ Sun Fire Hardware, V490, V880, V440, E4900, Sunfire 2900.

§ HP Proliant servers

§ Storage Area Networks – Hitachi AMS 500 SAN Configuration and Support, NetAps

§ MC Data Switch Implementation and Configuration.

§ ADIC Tape Libraries – Scalar 100 and Scalar i2000 Library
