GSM/GPRS/Roaming Managed Services

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the frame of a project for one of the major operator in India, you will be in charge of analysing the network performance of a cluster (GSM and GPRS) using data coming from our probing solution.

You will work in a “Managed Services” scheme and will report to the probe vendor’s Technical Project Manager and to the Project Director.

Part of the project team, you will:

· Analyse network performance and drill down to investigate the root cause(s) of performance degradations (mainly using probe vendor tools and customer’s OMC data)

· Provide recommendations to the customer in order to fine-tune the network and solve the identified issues (parameter tuning with target value, new network settings, neighbouring plan…)

· Participate to customer presentation in order to expose the findings and recommendations from the analysis

You will be working in Huawei / NSN / Ericsson / Alcatel environment.

You will perform network monitoring using vendor independent performance monitoring tool, based on the probing system aforementioned.

You will conduct network performance degradation troubleshooting and investigation using the tracing and measurements capabilities of the probing solution, and provide recommendations.

You will be in charge of delivering regular statistics and analysis reports as well as assess the performance improvement once the recommendations have been implemented.

This position does not require any management / team lead competencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Thorough knowledge of 2G/GPRS/3G network architecture elements and protocols (TCP/IP, ATM, SS7, etc)
• In-depth understanding of Telecommunications and Data Networking theory (Traffic Theory, OSI Model, etc)
• Knowledge of Huawei / NSN / Ericsson / Alcatel vendors (network elements architecture, OMC parameters, dimensioning rules…)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Good analytical skills
