Responsibilities
The front office surveillance will perform the activities of the 1st level operations consisting of planning and executing all the preventive and corrective maintenance actions necessary to keep the customer’s LTE & SRAN (2G/3G) network at the desired KPIs level. Corrective actions are taken on faulty nodes either remotely from the NOC or directly on site through a dispatch process in coordination with filed engineers to make sure problems are resolved with the agreed time with Omantel.
Working in the Front Office in the Network Operation Centre (NOC), the FLO Engineer is the focal point of all network assurance and service assurance activities. The primary purpose of the function is alarm monitoring and alarm management for all eNodeBs, NodeBs, Evo Controller 8200 RNC & Evo Controller 8200 BSC interpreting / understanding / resolving received alarm and escalating faults that can not be handled within a limited period to Customer Support. Field related problems / faults are referred to the field technicians. The surveillance function is a 24 hours a day operation. Shift work is therefore applied.
The FLO Engineer is principally in control of network status and network activities, being able at any one time to understand and report on traffic / service degradations and restoration activities. The surveillance function has greater influence of restoration times and therefore on overall network performance values.
The FLO Engineer is to take full responsibility for the detection, correct interpretation and correct handling / escalation of received alarms.

Required competence
General Competence

Good knowledge of network (O&M) availability alarm / status indicators and their interpretation and use.

Basic knowledge of LTE and Single RAN (SRAN 2G/3G) network implementation / integration processes

Must be willing to work in shifts ( in 24x7x365 working environment)

Demonstrated ability in fault logging and resolution

Good command on English; both verbal as well as written

Good knowledge of the official business software applications like MS Office Tools (i.e. MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point etc.)

Required education and experience
The FLO Engineer should have a degree within Electrical Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Operation & Maintenance implementation / integration / operation / support or testing environment.
